Robert Lainhart is a 28-year-old photographer residing in Salt Lake City, Utah. He describes himself as a world traveler, photographer, television addict, adventure enthusiast, animal lover, and avid golfer. Robert has deep rooted passions for travel and photography. Robert first left the country when he was only a few months old and has loved traveling ever since. He has been to 18 countries and has photographed in every one of them. He received his first camera from his aunt when he was 13, an old canon film SLR. The minute she put it in his hands he was captivated.

Robert went to high school at Rowland Hall, one of the best college preparatory schools in the country. His schooling shaped him into the person he is today and owes a whole lot to his education there. When Robert was 15 he received his first job as a technical assistant. Since then he has held many photographic jobs including in a professional studio, as a school photographer, and at a ski resort. He now manages his own photographic company providing services to those across his state. Robert currently attend Savannah College of Art and Design where he is seeking a bachelor’s degree in visual communications with an emphasis in photography.

Robert owes much of his success to National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions. Robert first started traveling with National Geographic/Lindblad shortly after graduating high school. He traveled to the Galapagos and was able to learn from some of National Geographic’s photographers on location. Since then Robert has traveled on numerous other photo expeditions to Costa Rica, Panama, New Zealand, Antarctica, and Eastern Africa. Working with and learning from world famous photographers on these journeys has taught Robert more than he could ever hope to learn in a classroom and has set him on the track for a successful career ahead of him.
