Melbourne

Today was a pretty chill day as it only consisted of one activity, riding the Puffing Billy train. The train travels through the Dandenong Ranges, a mountainous forest range surrounded by the suburbs of Melbourne. It was a really neat train ride but not the highlight of my trip.

Afterwards I rode a public bus through Dandenong Ranges National Park and took a train back to Melbourne. Once there I traveled via bus to the airport and caught a flight to Launceston, Tasmania. Not only was the flight delayed but once I arrived there was a massive school group ahead of me in the car rental line so it took nearly an hour to get out of the airport.

Driving out of the US for the first time was a bit uncomfortable. I started off by getting in the wrong side of the car, and then kept turning on the windshield wipers every time I wanted to turn. Driving on the left side of the road was very weird especially because it was late at night and I was in an unfamiliar place. Thankfully, I made it to the local Best Western and checked in for a good night’s sleep.
